Our Mission
Dandelion Community Empowerment Inc. believes that education is not something given from one group to another — it is something that must be drawn out from individuals and their communities. Our programs put that philosophy into action.
At the foundation of every program we offer lies a shared source of inspiration — the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh. These teachings challenge humanity to reach for its highest potential, not in one area of life, but in all of them: growing spiritually, building vibrant and just communities, and creating material conditions where everyone can thrive

Our Initiatives
College Access Program
For many young people, college feels out of reach — not because of ability, but because of access. Our College Access Program is a six-week summer initiative designed to change that. Built for first-generation and low-income high school students, the program walks participants through the college application process step by step, in an environment rooted in genuine relationship and long-term support.
But we go beyond applications. At the heart of the program is a deeper question: What do you want your life to mean? Students are encouraged to identify their aspirations, explore their strengths, and connect their education to something larger — the wellbeing of their families, their communities, and the world they want to help build.
Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program
The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Programme is a global movement rooted right here in Boston. We bring together young people, families, and community members around one powerful idea: that 11 to 14-year-olds are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are agents of change today.
Over the past 15 years, what started as a small group of dedicated youth has grown into a movement of several hundred young people across the Boston area. Together, we build the skills that matter most — the ability to express yourself clearly, think critically, and make decisions that reflect your deepest values.
Because when young people are empowered, whole communities are transformed.
What if giving back and making a living weren't two separate things? Our Youth Empowerment Program is built on exactly that idea. Young people are paid to do meaningful work — contributing to the betterment of their communities while developing the skills, habits, and sense of purpose that will carry them into adulthood.
This is more than a job. It is an introduction to a way of life. Participants build real capacity for service, learn what it means to contribute to something larger than themselves, and begin to see community-building not as a side project — but as a legitimate and fulfilling career path. Because we believe the world needs a generation of adults who have made service their livelihood — and we want to help youth start that journey now.
English Classes
Our english classes are dedicated to releasing the potential of newcomers to engage in community-building. Each month, a small group gathers to discuss meaningful topics with the help of a few trained volunteer, in a warm and informal environment that encourages fellowship and friendship. The program is participant-driven — groups define their own activities, social gatherings, and service projects together. The program allows newcomers to practice communicating in English, make new friends, and find opportunities to contribute to the wellbeing of their community.
